How much do funds cost?

How much a fund costs in euros and cents depends on the respective product. The costs and fees can be found, for example, in the "key investor information" document, which is prepared individually for each product according to a uniform template.

Usually the total costs consist of the following components:

Subscription fee

A fee that is payable in addition to the unit price. This varies according to the distribution channel and fund type and is not always applicable.

Annual ongoing costs

Comprise all costs borne by the fund excluding performance-related remuneration and transaction costs, in particular

Management fee:
fee for the management of the fund.
Depositary fee:
costs for the safekeeping of the fund assets by the depositary.
Reimbursement of expenses:
for example, costs for necessary audits and tax audits of the fund.

Annual variable costs

Transaction costs:
Costs arising from the purchase and sale of securities or real estate in the fund.
Performance fee:
Some funds charge an additional performance fee if the fund manager outperforms its benchmark or achieves a certain profit target.
